My 1972 Super Beetle is having a problem starting

Asked by Kourtney0326 Jul 09, 2014 at 02:21 PM about the 1972 Volkswagen Super Beetle

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1972 Super Beetle and recently she has been having some issues starting. I
just had the exhaust replaced and the car checked out and they said everything
seemed fine. At first when i tried to start it the lights and everything would turn on it just
would not turn over. I would jiggle the wires under the steering wheel and she would
start right up. Now when i try to start her none of the lights even turn on we attempted
to jump her and the lights came on but she still didnt start. Not sure if it is a battery
issue im having or a starter issue. Any opinions help.

check the electrical connections at both ends of the battery cables especially the ground and starter wires.
