What does an ongoing high pitch sound indicate is wrong in an Element (manual) 2005?

Asked by GuruT18Q Apr 03, 2017 at 11:43 AM about the 2005 Honda Element

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2005 Honda Element (manual) and when I start my car I hear a high pitch squeeling sound. It continues to last while I drive, changing in pitch when I shift gears or put the clutch in. When My car idles it makes this noise as well. I am not well versed in car maintenance and all I can think of is it's a belt of some kind. I was hoping to get some feedback to narrow down what the problem might be.

1 Answer

It could be the serpentine belt of a problem with the power steering pump. Check the PS fluid level.
