1998 Ford Windstar w 3.8 , which is the number 1 cyl bank on the engine ? F or R ?

Getting PO171 trouble code (lean #1 cyl. bank ) . Installing new O2  upstream
sensor . I have Haynes 1995/2007 Windstar Manual and they make no mention
of cyl. banks 1 or 2 . TY

#1 cyl. bank has the #1 cyl. which is towards rear of car , problem was air leak (gasket) between plenum and intake manifold
