Why does my car shake and then cut off after acceleration

My car just started doing a couple of days ago. I changed the oil and plugs. It's still taps
when I accelerate and the the oil gauge start moving and the car quits. I have wait until it
cools (about 45 minutes) before I can turn on a drive. What could be the issue?

Sounds like the oil pump is not working and circulating oil. I would have it check for proper oil pressure.
