Do you have any thoughts
If you have a 98 V6, then you have a 4.0 OHV engine, unless it was swapped out earlier. I have a 99 which experienced the same problem you are encountering. Here are some of the causes. You have a dirty throttle body/ IAC valve or the valve is bad. You need a tuneup, you could have a clogged fuel injector, your coil could be bad, a fouled plug or defective wire(s). Eliminate these causes before you begin throwing parts at it. The 4.0 OHV engine is a good engine. Mine is pushing 250K and runs like a top.
