matching vin numbers

Question type: General

I have a 1973 corvette with a body plate vin # 1237j3s410805.  The engine vin
# is 1354100808.  I have owned this car for 40 years and can't understand
why the numbers don't match.  Your thoughts please.  Tom

If vin does not match engine then it was replaced,and is not the original engine.
