Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My valves are adjusted to 1/2 turn past 0
lash . My #1 cylinder is on tdc on
compression stroke & at 0 on dampener
mark. Distributer pointing a hair advanced
of #1 mark on housing . I have good fuel in
all cylinders good compression in all
cylinders and spark at all plugs . Still not
firing up ! I rechecked all plug ins and every
fuse still nothing. ANY IDEAS ? DRIVING ME
CRAZY lol

Try retarding the distributor about 4-5°. If it's pointing advanced of mark that could be it's firing too soon. If it was a carb that wouldn't make that much diff, but the timing of the injection of fuel in relation of plug igniting is crucial. Just a guess but no cost and can't hurt

Check the crank position sensor, bottom right side of timing cover. You may not have injector pulse.

I've tried both of these so far lol.... I've even tried a 1/4 turn both ways on valves and no difference. It's not making sense it ran great wen I backed it into the shop to do head gaskets .... just ran hot of course. Can't understand what could have gone bad wile apart .... seems like timing but its set to specs . Thanks for ideas ....every thing is helpful
