Jimmy goes forward but wont go go into reverse

I recently bought a 1998 GMC Jimmy. I bought it knowing it didn't go into reverse. I need
help finding out whats wrong with it.

Transmissions is out man, That’s the first thing that goes with the reverse and the rest of the transmission Will go to crap soon
