Hello I need some help I have a GMC sierra 2000 and its been about a week or so that I started noticing something was wrong every time I would brake and turn either left or right it seem like it jump

like something all of a sudden stops the
tires and start leaving black lines behind  
friends say its the differential but to be
honest I've never change the oil I've had it
since along time can someone give me an

Possibly in the differential but then that means it is locked into 4-wheel drive, would have to look at that issue, but I suspect that you have a bad CV joint in the front axle.

I believe that your friends are probably right, the inspection cover will have to be removed to see what is damaged inside, it could be the limited slip portion or it could be the entire unit, if the teeth on the ring and pinion are badly worn then it is time for a rebuild or a replacement rear end. I would advise you not to drive it much as it could totally lockup at any point in time.
