While driving my envoy would stall like no tomorrow,i would have to play with the ignition to get it started again ,now its parked in my driveway and it will not start at all..all lights come on my cluster except the engine light beside the anti-theft..i can not even put in nutral or get it out of park.THE stalling was going on for about 1 year now ,,took it to GM dealer did there test with computer and found noting wrong with it but meanwhile it still stalled..Could there be something wrong with the ignition switch,,any help would be apprecated thank you

Ok today i went to wrecking yard and bought a complete steering colon and hooked it up too my envoy and all lights on the cluster can on but still wouldn't turn over..So what i did is took the hole steering wheel apart without letting the airbag go off,,now what i see in front of me is the ignition switch, under neat of the switch there's a module that connects too the ignition switch,,took that module switch and went over to my envoy and replace the module switch and bingo all lights lite up,,now i turned it over and it started,,wow,,so all along it was the module switch that gave me the problem of stalling ....I HOPE THAT THIS POST WILL HELP SOMEONE WITH THE SAME ISSUE,, pretty bad a GMC machanic couldn't figure this out,,,wow what a joke on them...

I had the exact same problem, and it turned out to be something so simple I couldn't believe it, every once in a while, in addition to that problem, the key wouldn't come out of the ignition, so that was an added issue, but guess what it turned out to be? When I finally did get the key out of the ignition, I took a good look at it, and it turned out to be bent, use a straight key and you shouldn't have that problem anymore
