I have a 1986 chevy celebrity...When I went to start it here a few days ago,I noticed the carb isnt choking...and it starts bad now....any help?

Always started on the first key turn.. now I gotta kinda mess with the gas peddle and hold the key turned....I did spray the carb and linkage down with carb cleaner the week pryer to it doing this...it's gonna get cold here soon...plz help
