Driver's door controls stopped working

Asked by Aug 30, 2019 at 09:28 AM about the 2006 GMC Envoy

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Can I switch out rear door controls and
attach to front door to see if they work on
front driver's door

Driver's door controls might not be bad. Might be a blown fuse or a fault in the wiring. Check for a blown fuse. If fuses are OK, have someone who's knowledgeable about car electronics review this.

Connections are different to swap switches. There is a recall on the master switch. Call dealer and see if you're covered. In a nutshell, water can enter the switch, wasn't sealed properly. These switches tend to melt inside out, and CAN cause a fire, so careful.
