If the engine does not crank, check the PATS LED (Immobilizer warning light) next to the clock. This light on switching the ignition to ON will illuminate for a few seconds then go out. If it flashes quickly and the flashes up a code, or stays ON all the time, it's a PCM (Computer Box) problem. These can be repaired. If you dropped the vehicle key the transponder in the key will break and will have to be replaced. As I have said, these Computer Boxes can be repaired and it's done in the Pretoria area. If the engine cranks and there is no spark, check the starter relay. If the starter relay has a short circuit , the engine will crank but there will be no spark at the plugs. If there is no fuel at the injectors, check the impact switch on the left side A pillar under the dash. There is a hole in the side cover. Put your finger through this hole and press the button in. This switch disables the fuel pump.

If it cranks, but not starting, Check the starter selonoid wire that runs in the same channel as the crank angle sensor wiring. Remove the Selonoid wire away from the sensor wiring. Check the Amperage draw of the Battery positive cable to the starter. Its possibly too high. in that case replace the battery positive cable. Check the Battery negitive cable to the body and clean the terminals. Fit an extra battery cable from the battery negative to the gearbox.
