New ignition but can't get it to turn all the way off and key is stuck. Solutions please?

I just changed the ignition on my 1990 dodge ram d150. The truck starts and runs but the ignition wont turn all the way off so the key is basically stuck in the ignition. does anybody know why it wont turn all the way back and able to remove the key?

some ignitions you have to push the key in some to turn it all the way back and get the key out-HTH

I tried that but it still just stops right before the key is able to come out. I press down on the brakes and everything. I try easying the pins by turning the wheel but still nothing.
