Poor running 2000 taurus SE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2000 Taurus with 97,700 miles.  Car sat for several months without running, When I start it up, it runs rough, and sets a P0304 code, Cam position sensor problem.  So, I replaced the Cam PS, and the Crank Position Sensor, also the coil pack, and Idle air valve.  None of these made a difference.  The car will start, with enough hesitation to reset the 0304 code, then will smooth out and run seemingly normally, until it gets warmed up,then when I press the gas pedal,  it cuts out like an ignition problem,  If I turn on the air, it seems to get worse.
I have put fresh gas in the tank, along with a water absorbent.  I suspect the
computer now, as nothing seems to work. HELP!

Nothing worked because that code is for a # 4 cylinder misfire. Look at plugs wires coil injector or compression.

Sorry, I transposed the 0 and the 4 the P code should have read 0340, not 0304. The engine runs a lot rougher than just one cylinder misfire. It will stall out on occasion, along with running rough.. acts like a compete momentary ignition cutoff, or fuel pressure failure. I have a code reader, but nothing more to diagnose with. Problem is, it will run just fine after a few stumbles starting, then suddenly everything goes bad.
