How could it be incorrect ratio when the car came like that? You probably need a trany fluid and filter change, and a possible solenoid. A good trany shop will know what to do.

Them saying that it is incorrect gear ratio means that there is a diagnostic trouble code present in the computer. Like Rowefast said possible solenoid problem. If the 2-3 solenoid is bad or the wiring to it is bad it can prevent the trans from shifting out of the initial gear when moving. Did they give you the code associated with it? Second gear is p0732 3rd is p0733. ........this is an example of the p0732 code, component, condition, symptom chart........................ P0732 SSA, SSB, or internal parts Second gear failure. Incorrect gear ratio while commanding second gear. Incorrect gear selection depending on condition, mode and manual lever position: see Solenoid Operation Chart. Shift errors may also be due to other internal transaxle concerns (e.g., stuck valves, damaged friction material)
