I have a 1991 Dodge Spirit and my question is: My passenger door won't open from the inside, but can from the outside. The child lock is not on. What do you think is wrong, and could I fix it myself?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The car was in fairly decent condition
when we bought it. We are the
second owners, but my sister had it
for a few months and trashed it.

Ok well I have a (1993 dodge spirit) and I fixed it like it was knew. Your problem is that the door is old and there is a spring that opens the door that is the (1st)- spring and there is a (2nd)- spring that locks the door and if it is old you would have to take the paneling off the door from the inside and take the spring and go to AutoZone and get a new spring that fits a Dodge Ram truck preferably a 1300 R 3200 and same coils same everything and you would have to replace it quick and easy you can take it to the shop but it would not be any used to take it to a shop. It's just a two sided spring you hook it on both sides of the door where the lock mechanism is and it should work. Raven if you have a problem give me a call at. - (727-851-4641) Thanks have a great morning and day.....
