Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 92 spirit 3.0 that keeps breaking the ac belt. I replace it and watch it run, and everything looks fine but it breaks within a couple of days

burning smell? would have the compressor fixed, one could look at the sight glass, if pieces of dessicant are in that, it is time for a new filter/dryer~ NOT the fault of the belt, the compressor is working too hard, get it serviced~

I would suspect one of two things. Either the compressor is going bad or system is overcharged putting more of a load on pulley. Make sure all pulleys are aligned . Ive seen crank pulleys not all the way on and cause belt issues. Bad oil leaks can cause belt issues also. Hope this helps
