I sold my Suburban '73 rusty one in California for five hundred bucks with a bad lifter...that could make it to California (from WI) with my foot to the floor maybe 4 MPG~ not movin' back....don't ask.

The swivel buckets sell for at least 300 just frames and pedestal if you can find dont make the consul hard to find and very sought after . the rear bumper is no lees then 500 if can find. 3 on e bay now 700 firm and a 454 well; the car is the gmc el camino ss the gmc sprint 350 Sb bench seat car is $15,000 clean all day

El Camino's are sought after...no not why...Not a good pickup---Not a good sedan...basically a "show" vehicle~ (if it's in show condition)

if it's a crunchin' rust, and sun-floor....you will spend all summer long weldin' it and end up with something that wasn't nearly as good....fiberglass is easier to work with than shaping and welding steel to rust~

...sounds like you have a plan already and see POTENTIAL here!~ good luck 2Jason~ in Wisconsin you can see by my 26 car garage (and that ain't all of them) have experience trying to make grandpa run the 100 yd dash....and there are plenty of cars that are a darn sight easier to deal with...after my last attempted rescue of a 'damsel in distress' 1971 Volvo (recalled cause bad wiring caused fires) had all the excitement I could handle as every single system needed attention to end up with a piece of crap volvo~....after all that money and time~

you cannot make out with bucket seats---my '59 pontiac with cloth bench seats with no seatbelts and single cylinder brakes did everything I could expect with my 389 and jet-a-way transmission....then got smashed downtown with 60,000 miles on it....drat-- It's hard to find a bench seat anymore....only a couple of manufacturers offer them anymore~

I also have a 95 toyota pickup with 150,000 miles on it as my "work truck" still needs a cosmetic this or that as the truck was broken into and they smashed the dash taking my tachometer and heater knobs~ just don't care....am driving a MINI---the ultimate fun driving experience- --I insist you beat it on over to the MINI dealer for a test drive...you'll know whatinahell I'm talkin' about....such fun IS allowed~

chrysler used to sell "swivels out to meet you....swivels in to seat you"...not such a dandy-fresh Idea, 'cause every car would feature this...wouldn't they?....probably safety concerns here with locking the assembly~

unsafe yes i think that's why thy are gone might fly out the windshield still in seat haha i like minis looked at one last week for sale old one need floor to much work. i like how thay dont take up that much room. i like buckts in el camino it is like you said not a truck or car just looks and drive to car shows. to much horse power and they are all over the road. iam 40 so i was like 10 when most cars had bench it was like a bed in thouse old cars is cool some times

if our buddy DavidH25 were paying attention, he would have an idea on where to start on your toyota difficulties...He's the number one GURU~...or used to be until surpassed by tenspeed...don't know that he wants me to call his help anymore...gonna try~

the intelligence from your throttle position sensor has to make it's way into the ECU and onto the transmission...perhaps it does not make it's way to the ECU, but connects directly to the transmission...you've got me wondering...am going to have to pull a schematic on your (what year?) truck and see if there is a TCM transmission control module (just makin' this shit up, but probably exists....sadly) need your schematic to check my full-0-snit factor here~
