Both work fine when brake is not applied.  radio comes on shortly after brake is released.  could this be a broken ground?  if so where would I look to find it?
Thanks

Hi Sal! This is a good one and I couldn't find any reference to similar problem anywhere on the net (you stumped the net!). take a ride down to your local dealer and bend the service manager's ear for a bit. Maybe he has an idea! Good luck!

It sounds to me like there may be a wire running under the dash that the brake pedal is pulling on when pushed. If you can get your hand up in there follow the brake pedal up as far as you can and see if you can feel or see a wire running across it somewhere.
