When I start my Dodge Intrepid to drive it it won't shift. But if I sit on a levelocity ground and wait for a pooping noise it shifts after. What could be wrong?

This could be a failing shifter lock out solenoid, when this happens try using the shifter lockout overide and see if it will shift then, more on this can be found in the owners manual.
