I turned right and the check engine light came on
and I lost drive

I have a 1998 Chrysler Intrepid with a 3.2 litre engine. My problem is that while its running the battery light come in the dash. After it runs for awhile it dies . Nothing . So i changed the alternatorand it sstarted okay but then again after minutes the battery light come on again. So I'm just wondering if the computer sensor is shot and if I'm able to change it myself.

Do you know if it is actually charging on the car? You can check with a digital multi meter set on DCV. It should show around 14.5 DCV with the vehicle running. Also if the battery is bad you may get a false reading. Should have the battery checked, it may have a shorted cell. Checking the battery voltage with the meter it should show 12.5 to 12.7 DCV. fully charged.
