98, Starts normally, runs breifly and stalls

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

98 Grand Caravan

Got up this morning at 6 and went out to start the car. Ran normally last night. Turned the key and it started, put it in gear and it stalled. Thought that was odd, never happened before... So started it again, put it in gear and stalled again. Hmmm. Started it a 3rd time and didn't put it in gear, it stalled again. Of course I have tried a few more times.

After it starts the tach isn't displaying anything.
The gas gauge isn't responding either.
The odometer display is blank
No unusual trouble lights
None of the trip computer displays have any data except the compass. They are totally blank except for the decimal point and description of what they should be displaying.

I have checked the obvious fuses.

Cant imagine what could have happened overnight sitting in my driveway.

I believe that it has to do with the security system. So, if you disconnect the battery cables (to reset it) and then try it again, it should start.
