1999 caravan sport 3.3 reverse will not work, forward ok. Right CV Axel is worn and needs replacement. When wheels off ground, reverse works

Reverse does not work when tires on ground. Tires not touching ground, driver cv axle worn and need replacement, reverse works. At 40 mph get rumbling in cv axle. Forward works. Reverse problem due to CV Axle condition????

No, probably not. Sounds like your transmission is shot. VERY, Very common in Chrysler, Dodge and Plymouth vans. They had a reputation for failing. Take it to a REPUTABLE mechanic just to be sure
