My 99 dodge dakota
it doesn't always do it but when i filled up my tank the other day it said it was
at empty and its been like this for 2-3 days now i dont know if its the fuel pump
of the connection thats bad but I'm tired of dealing with it any advice will be
If the connection goes bad the gauge usually goes full scale, so way past the full mark, as yours is reading empty that usually means either a sunk or broken float or a grounded out circuit someplace in the fuel gauge circuit.
do you think I need a new fuel pump?
No as it does run ok, Right? If it is not a grounded wire, then most likely just a float on the sender arm.
