Engine sputtering and no bus code

Asked by May 19, 2017 at 11:35 AM about the 2000 Dodge Ram Van

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So one day out of the blue, I'm driving down the
road and my engine in my 00 dodge ram van1500
starts sputtering and jerking losing power and
wanting to die out. I managed to get it to a parking
lot before it died. A buddy told me it might be the
fuel filter/pump which was in the fuel tank. Had a
mechanic change out the fuel pump and then he
called me and told me I needed to pick up a
crankshaft position sensor. After the crankshaft
position sensor was installed it ran for a day and
then yesterday on my way home from work it
started doing the same thing all over again. I pulled
into another parking lot noticed the no bus code on
my odometer and kept it running for a couple of
minutes and all of a sudden it was back to a
normal idle. So I put it in drive and started back on
my way home. Got 5 miles down the road and it did
it again. Any help would be appreciated.
