Question type: Maintenance & Repair

One day I was driving my car, it was running just
fine . Out of no where my car just starts to drive
slower and slower  so I had to pull over and leave it
parked somewhere. When I returned to get my car
it was working fine again, but after a while driving,
it begins to slow down. Someone told me it was
the transmission but I don't believe that's what it is
if not it wouldn't run at all .... Right??? Pleaseee
HELP ME GUYS!!!!!!!
