Asked by GuruF6VLM May 03, 2020 at 12:56 PM about the 2009 Subaru Forester

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Car will not start, but it is not a
battery issue as the dome light w
the radio, dashboard, etc work.
Initial start sounds like it wants to
turn over then just clicks.

Lights do not require a large amount of Amperage from the battery to work . The starter motor requires a lot more amperage to operate. Go have the battery tested at a parts store, they will also test the alternator . Once you have the results act accordingly to repair per their results.
