I'm doing the timing of my car Dodge Intrepid

I'm trying to do the timing belt marks right
but my piston is still not at the top I need
help

Isn't there a timing pointer down on the crank shaft pulley? You would line up the line on the crank shaft pulley to the "Zero" on the timing pointer. It may be on the timing belt cover so you would need to put it back in place and rotate the engine to get the marks lined up. Then take the cover off to line up the other marks and put the timing belt on.
