2001 taurus runs normally for 15 minutes or so then runs rough with no power, literally would not go up a modest hill. Shut it off and immediately restarted and it ran fine. Has done this twice.

Check if you have a vacuum leak around the PCV valve or elbow. Open the hood and run the engine and listen for any vacuum leaks.

Dont see or hear any obvious leaks. Would a vacuum leak throw a code? I have assumed til now no codes because of no check engine lights, Wil get a chance to check for code tonight after work.

It can cause a 'too lean' code P0171/P0174, among others. But it's premature to speculate on that, too many things can cause your sypmtoms - get the codes scanned then look them up or post 'em here.
