2001 Ford Taurus

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My car turns off every 2-5
miles while driving. Temp
shows HOT but radiator
coolant is good. After
cools down (2hr.s) my car
starts up for another 2-5
miles. What is causing
this? Please help I don't
know any mechanic's. This
is my only transportion I
have for me and my son.

at the top of the resevoir (Fill tank) is a recirculating hose(small hose ) start the engine and see if any coolant is being pumped into the resivoir if not I would replace the water pump before you burn up the engine...hope this helps
