exhaust manifolds glowing

I have a 98 GMC Sierra 3 quarter ton 4
wheel drive 5.7 Vortec new fuel pump spark
plugs and  wires distributor cap. exhaust
manifolds glowing any ideas

Clogged catalytic converter.


or leaky fuel injector dumping raw fuel into the exhaust.


I'll go with the plugged catalytic converter, It would have to be a lean condition and running hard for fuel to make the manifold glow. Too much fuel would make it bog down.


I worked on a lot of motor homes in my days and everything one would come with glowing manifolds we always found an exhaust restriction somewhere in the system and usually it was in the mufflers, you could actually see a hot spot on the outside of the mufflers. So that's my two cents worth.
