We just had the engine and transmission rebuilt on a 96 4.3 v6. Shop is 2 hours away so i need to handle this one myself. Truck is running fine but had a check engine light come on.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2 codes p2302 / p2305. Ign coils.
Found wire unplugged 2 wires one
brown the other black with white
stripe. Facing truck left side under air
intake tube around coil. Could this be
it?  Googled codes and said could
be loose ground. Can't find where it
plugs if at all on v6.

only 2 hours away? Look- if these guys did all that work, and you paid all that money, they should make it right AND pay for towing- if you want to waste your time fixing other people's major butchery, fine- but why did you not just buy another car, when you live 2 hours away from civilization?

i'm not understanding those codes. p2305 means problem with ign coil "B". But a 96 4.3 has only 1 coil. Are you sure on those codes?

Those are definitely the codes. P2302 ignition coil A secondary circuit p2305 ignition coil B secondary circuit

can you get a picture of it? Also, the codes dont make sense as you have no ignition coil B

Welcome to my confusion! I took it back in and had them rerun the light. Pulled up an evap valve code and the other 2 didn't come back up. Did find a blown lighter fuse though. Reset light and drove about 5 miles hasn't come back on. I did take a pic of the wire.
