1995 GMC Sierra 5.7 rotar in distributar keeps cracking

There are 2 things that can cause this problem . # 1 worn distributor housing bushings causing the rotor to slightly come in contact with the cap . # 2 plugged venting screen on flat plate of distributor which causes excessive heating inside cap . Making rotor brittle .
