transmission leak

i can't see it leaking anywere but after i drive then park it seems to leak out then

How do I know if I have a major transmission problem. I'm leaking transmission from the front my transmission fluid is dark and burnt and won't shift gears . What come it be a minor or major problem. It runs if I put more fluid in it.
