What is making my car burn a lot of oil ??

I have a 1990 gmc sierra 5.7L and it
burn a lot of oil at mid to high rpm's.
When its in low rpm's it doesnt burn
oil but once you rev it..it start burning
a lot of oil .. Could it be the pcv
valve??
