Can anyone tell me off the the top of their
head what transmission fluid I would be
using for 700R4 on my '83 Chevy Silverado
6.2L Diesel 2WD?

Dextron III to Dextron 5, any newer Dextron will work. You can also ask at the parts store, they can look it up.
