Checking the temp. Sensor.

Not sure my temp readings are accurate.
Gauge says I'm getting hot but the truck
doesn't run like it's hot. I disconnected my
temp sensor wire and the gauge reads zero.
I ground it and it maxes out. Does this
sound like the sensor is bad and do they go
bad very often?

Change out the old sensor. They're cheap. The gage is doing what it's supposed to.
you didn't wire in a 2 wire sensor for your gauge did you?

I have now. That's what the parts store gave me. It said to ground one side. Is this a problem? Btw. It still maxes out. I drive the truck all over and it didn't physically get hot. If the gauge was correct I would have blown the motor

i am unable to can locate this plug that determines my manual trucks speed for the heater gauge fan
