hey guys i have an 89 silverado with a 350 small block in it and was wanting to put an lt1 in its place. is it an easy swap to replace it with an lt1 or is it work plz explain and should i just upgrade the 350 small block?

wanting to add power/speed to my truck and am fairly new to engine customization so i would really apreciate the help. was told that an lt1 has similar if not same mounting brackets but am looking for more in depth details.

350 sbc parts are so onto easy to come by. Your motor can unlock alot of power with some better flowing heads, better cam and intake. Those are the weak points on the tbi trucks
so headers, a cam shaft, and air intake? any brand make/model recommendations?

I have an '89 Silverado pick up truck and I got a complete car that has been. Wreaked at the rear. It runs great I live in South Ms.on the gulf coast. And I am looking for a Machine to put it in any one interested contact me @: 228 369 5390
Stick with SBC LT1 is all fine but parts are harder to locate and cost a healthy amount more also. Alps uses a reverse cooling set up so if you aren't familiar with a LT1 it is very easy to block the wrong holes. Also LT1 uses a optispark system that sits under the water pump so when the pump goes it drowns Opti causing early failure. Not a cheep one either a new Opti is about 400 dollars. I vote normal SBC is more user friendly engine.uch better for someone new to this kind of stuff.
