Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2005 Dodge Stratus I lost the
key it was a transponder key so I
couldn't get a replacement for it
because I bought the car used now
what happened was I got another key
out of another Dodge I got the
immobilizer and the Brain so
everything goes together but I think the
security system is keeping me locked
out of it still how do I bypass that so
my car will start it turned over once or
twice for me and I don't have a key fob

You would have been better off taking it to the dealer or a smart locksmith and having the key cut and the system reset for your new key, now you can try the reset procedure listed in the owners manual but you have changed from the original setup so it might not work. I think yor stuck with taking it to the dealer to have the whole system reset and reprogrammed so it will reconise all the parts you put in. Won't be cheap.
