It's 50 years old! If you know the water pump is good, then back flush the radiator and block. Make sure the top and bottom radiator hoses are firm and not soft enough to suck in. Use a 170 thermostat and a 50/50 antifreeze/water mixture. Be sure the fan belt is not rotted and tightened properly with proper tension.
