2001 Ford Focus has break lamp stuck on, also door ajar light, after going over a curb, any suggestions?

after going over a large curb and landing rather hard, my friends Ford Focus has its break light and door ajar light stuck on.  They won't go out.  what can this be, a fuse?  A wire?
