1976 cj5 v8 suspension is squirrely on take off and stopping. what is causing it?has new shocks

76 cj5 360 v8 new shocks and 32"all terr tires. when you drive it,it tries or it feels
like it wants to fishtail or corkscrew.If you aint careful it feels like it wants to get out
of control.chassis has been inspected for rust and cracks.

a v8s just alot more power than the 5's were made for. its typical i wouldnt worry about it... i mean they made the 5 back in 1955. and the only motor was an f-head 4 cylinder and the buick v6... amc took over around 76 and some had stock v8's but they never changed the frame at all from the original

Check all of your steering components, TREs, BJs mainly. If there is play in them that will cause it to wander all over.

Driving a CJ5 on pavement is like trying to drive a snake. The V8 is to much horsepower for such a short wheelbase. Real jeeps like these are meant to be in the dirt. Be very careful on pavement, these are not street jeeps. I trailer mine, but they can not be beat off-road. HAVE FUN
