BLinking overdrive light on excursion

Asked by Oct 04, 2017 at 11:23 PM about the 2001 Ford Excursion

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2001 excursion. I pulled a small cargo
trailer from pennsylvania to Alabama with no
problems. Then engine light came on and I
replaced the sensor the code said was showing
the problem. Engine light is off but now over drive
light started blinking and it has been dying on me
at stop lights and low idle. Please help. Really need
to get this fixed I love my truck!!

Blinking overdrive light means there are transmission fault codes present in the system. You can use an OBDii code scanned to pull them. That will tell you if it's a soleniod/sensor issue or something more serious.

The check engine light isnt on anymore I dont think a code reader will pick anything up without check engine light on
