Transmission

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1995 chrysler Lebaron lx convertible.
When I tried to go from a stop the car reeved up
and banged into gear before it would move then
the transmission slipped pretty much all the way
home ( about a mile ) I checked the fluid and it was
about a quart low but it made no difference. Is
there any chance it could be the filter or a sensor?
Maybe the shift solenoid? Any advice will be
greatly appreciated

Speed sensor is a fairly cheap diy, could be going out, or brakes locking? Do you have the key check code ? Turn ignition on/off 3times and read dot code for trouble shooting. Start is 11, finish is 55. Check hoses, wiring for damage.
