Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Im looking at buying a Renault grand scenic, I have been told by the seller that when driving all the dash board lights come on and off when driving, is this a major problem or do i leave the car and not buy it?

recommend FORGET the french technology and buy a Toyota (any model)...do not buy it if it is problematic...you do not want them to be your problems now~

These are notoriously bad poor electrics. The fault you are having with the dash board is a common and known fault by Renault. The only fix is to replace the dash cluster itself. To do this you will need the specific Renault diagnostic ( 'Clip') computer, as you will need to retrieve the specific perameters set within the dash computer and then once fitted ,set up the new dash cluster. Renault U.K were offering a contribution to the cost of repairs but not sure if they are still doing this, worth asking though.
