How do i reset my odometer mileage.

You can only reset the trip mileage, you can not reset the actual mileage.

Yep that is right you do not. It is not illegal to reset an odometer. You own the car, you can reset it if you want. It is illegal to state that the mileage is correct, when it is not, when you are transferring title to the vehicle. If the odometer mileage on the vehicle is not accurate (and the mileage is on the car, not the engine) then when you sell the car you have to state on the mileage certification that current reading is not actual mileage and there is an odometer discrepancy.
