Check the battery terminals as well as the wires themselves. Corrosion occurs and can eat right through the cables, top and bottom should be checked and tested.

The thing that keeps the car from starting when you turn the key is gone and I need it and I'm not sure what it's called it's next to the key ignition it allows the car to start
