I know someone that has a '72 or '73 Karmann Ghia. Some reason it won't go into reverse anymore and I don't think it grinds. Could this be a linkage issue and is there a particular linkage part that can cause this to happen? Would you also be able to tell me how to fix this if it's a linkage issue?

You have to push down on the shifter and put it into reverse at the same time
