Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Just bought the car has loads of issues, wondering if
anyone can tell me why I have to prime the engine like a
lawnmower before it starts, I'm thinking a new fuel pump or
maybe I have to clean or replace the fuel lines any advice is
appreciated.

If the vehicle sits for extended time periods between being used, consider it normal. If it occurs after only sitting overnight or a few days, the float bowl is leaking and the carburetor needs to be rebuilt. DO NOT replace the original carburetor with a rebuilt unit from your local auto parts store and turn in the old one for the core charge!! Have the original carburetor rebuilt! I learned that lesson the hard way with my 70 Catalina! Hope that helps! Jim
